Privacy policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

Confidentiality matters to us, and that includes how we handle your personal information. This page explains what we collect through this website and in our work, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under data protection law (the GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018).

Who we are

Croí Connections is run by Alan and Helen O'Brien in County Meath. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything on this page at croiconnections@gmail.com or by calling Alan on 087 614 2109.

What we collect

When you use the booking form, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the type of session you'd like and your message.

When you book an event, Stripe takes your payment and passes us your name, contact details and confirmation of payment. We don't see your full card details.

When you email or phone us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.

If you attend therapy, we keep your contact details, appointment and payment records, and brief confidential session notes. Some of this is health information, which the law treats as a special category of data and which we protect with particular care.

Please don't feel you need to share sensitive details in the booking form. A few words about what you're looking for is plenty.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We never sell your information, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of services to run Croí Connections:

Some of these providers may store data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We will only share your information with anyone else if you ask us to, or if we are required to by law or need to act to protect you or someone else from serious harm. We'll talk about the limits of confidentiality at the start of any therapy.

How long we keep it

Cookies and Google Ads

This website uses Google Ads to help people find us. With your permission, a Google Ads cookie lets us see whether someone who clicked an ad went on to send a booking request. It doesn't tell us who you are, and it isn't used to follow you around the web with adverts: ad personalisation and remarketing are switched off.

This cookie is only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject, no advertising cookies are used and the website works exactly the same.

Google's ad tag still loads on every page, whatever you choose. This means your browser connects to Google, which receives basic technical details such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you're on, including whether you've reached the page shown after a booking request. Until you accept, this happens without cookies, and it can include measurement signals that Google uses to estimate how well ads are working overall.

Your choice is remembered in your browser for six months, and you can change it at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

The website's fonts are provided by Google Fonts, which also means your browser connects to Google to load them. This doesn't set any cookies. You can read more in Google's privacy policy.

Your rights

You have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email croiconnections@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, though we'd welcome the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.

This website and email are not monitored for emergencies. If you're in crisis, please contact your GP, call 112 or 999, or text 50808.
